We are seeking a Research Associate II to Associate Scientist to execute and optimize cell-based assays for functional testing of drug leads. The successful candidate will be a self-directed individual that works well in a team environment.

This role is required to be onsite full time at our office in Alameda, CA - we are not able to offer any relocation assistance at this time.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement assays to credential mechanism of action for small molecules using mammalian cultured cells and biochemical approaches.
• Optimize in vitro assays for the team (shorten cycle time, miniaturize components).
• Maintain the organization and safety of biology research areas.
• Create and maintain inventories for samples and reagents.
• Document experimental details, data, and findings

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Research Associate II: BS degree+ 2-5 yrs or MS degree + 0-2 yrs
• Associate Scientist BS degree+ 7 yrs or MS degree + 4 yrs
(emphasis in a biological discipline preferred)

Preferred Skills, Qualifications, or Technical Proficiencies:

• Tissue culture
• Western blotting
• Immunoprecipitation assays
• Protein quantification
• Strong communication skills
• Prior experience with cancer biology is preferred.
